Michael L. Leyba III is an Associate Attorney with Guardian Litigation Group, LLP, bringing nearly thirty years of combined legal and litigation experience to his practice. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside in 1990, and his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas in 1993.
Mr. Leyba is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Kansas (since 1995) and Colorado (since 2022), and he has been admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar since 2010. His broad legal background includes serving as a state prosecutor and a regional public defender, as well as handling matters in family law, estate and probate, and collections. Prior to joining Guardian Litigation Group, Mr. Leyba worked on the creditor's side of debt collection litigation, giving him both a unique experience and insight into how the opposition thinks and may proceed in a lawsuit.
Outside of his legal work, Mr. Leyba enjoys a wide range of personal interests. A self-proclaimed “foodie,” he also spends time with his dogs, attends sporting events and concerts, and collects sports memorabilia and autographs.
