Eight years ago, Guardian Litigation Group opened its doors with a straightforward conviction: consumers deserve a real fight in their corner. Not a form letter. Not a call center script. A real advocate who understands the law, knows the tactics creditors use, and isn’t afraid to use every tool available to protect the people who need it most.
Today, as we mark our eighth anniversary, we’re taking a moment to look back at the road that brought us here and reflect on the clients who made every step of it meaningful.
Where It All Started
In 2017, founder John Greenway set out to build something different: a firm that combined the financial relief of debt settlement with the full force of in-house legal defense. The idea was simple but powerful. Consumers shouldn’t have to choose between negotiating their debt and having an attorney fight for them in court. They should have both.
That model has defined GLG ever since. Unlike traditional debt settlement companies, we put real attorneys in the room and in the courtroom, standing between our clients and the banks, creditors, and debt collectors who pursue them.
We started small. A tight-knit team. A clear mission. And a relentless commitment to treating every client like their case was the most important one we had, because to them, it was.
Eight Years of Growth
A lot changes in eight years.
GLG has grown to a team of over 25 attorneys, each focused on the intersection of debt relief and consumer protection. Our practice has deepened. The tools we use to serve clients have evolved dramatically, from the way we communicate to the systems that help us stay organized to the technology that helps us move faster without ever losing the human touch that defines who we are.
We’ve also expanded our intake department significantly, which is one of the investments we’re most proud of this year. A more robust intake team means more people who call us actually get help. It means faster responses, more thorough case evaluations, and a smoother experience from the very first conversation. For the person on the other end of the line, often scared and overwhelmed, that first interaction matters enormously. We’ve made sure we’re ready for it.
And we’ve been vocal about the issues that affect our clients. GLG actively publishes content on debtor rights, including recent updates on creditor harassment and the rising tide of year-end debt charge-offs. Informed clients are empowered clients, and empowered clients make better decisions.
But some things haven’t changed at all.
We still answer the phone. We still take the time to explain what’s happening and what comes next. We still believe that a confused client is a poorly served client, and we work hard to make sure that never happens. The culture GLG was built on (accessible, tenacious, and client-first) runs just as deep today as it did on day one.

Eight years in, the need for strong consumer advocacy hasn’t shrunk. If anything, it’s grown. Financial pressures on everyday people remain real and persistent.
